“Team Aultman” founded VetDS in 2008, by Derek and Michelle Aultman respectively. VetDS is built upon three basic core values in how we operate and behave:

These basic core values shaped the owners during their military careers, professional life and has been carried over as a foundation to give VetDS customers a professional, responsive and trustworthy company.

VetDS objectives are to be an organization that stands out as a trusted advisor to all our customers as a leader in consulting, architecting and delivering Enterprise solutions that extend life cycles, provides flexible and scalable solutions and works to protect customer data with industry best practices. VetDS is committed to create a loyal customer following that remains engaged after the completion of the initial project. We will strive to develop deep and trusted relationships with our customers and will ensure they know that we are their trusted advisor throughout the life of their project and not just the initial implementation.

Michelle Aultman

VetDS Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Michelle Aultman holds a B.S. in Information Systems Management and a M.S. in Information Assurance. She has 8 years prior Active Duty Air Force Experience as a Systems Analyst and Information Assurance Officer. After separating from the AF in 2003, Michelle became a System and Data Analyst for Special Operations Command (SOCOM) designing Storage Area Networks and Network Attached Storage (SAN/NAS) and installing Long-Haul Circuits for large dataset environments.

In 2006 Michelle joined NetApp as an Interoperability Engineer, giving her an in depth understanding of the complex technology and business drivers behind the NetApp product lines.

With this unique and extensive experience, Michelle is able to provide very deep technical level architecture and deployment guidance for Federal and Commercial customers. Michelle has a keen understanding of the importance of establishing an open line of communications with end users and cultivating her place in the organization as trusted advisor. She is the ‘go to’ resource for customers working with VetDS.

Derek Aultman

VetDS President and Owner, Derek Aultman, has 10 years prior Active Duty Air Force Experience as an Aerial Gunner on the MH-53 Pavelow. Derek served in Special Operation for seven tours to Afghanistan and Iraq, was a first responder to the 9/11 World Trade Center tragedies and provided relief efforts during Hurricane Katrina. This experience gave Derek life experience which he used to perfect his ability to multi-task and handle extremely stressful situations with ease.

With a B.S. in Information Systems Management and multiple technology certifications, Derek has a deep understanding for the technology and processes used in our customer’s environments. Derek’s tenure in the AF also put him in the position of working contracts through the entire cycle to fulfillment. This experience has allowed Derek to be successful when working with Federal contracting officers throughout the procurement cycle. After separating from the AF in 2006, Derek immediately went to work supporting every facet of customer data processing requirements. In 2008 Derek decided to found his own company, Veteran Data Solutions, to allow him to provide an even greater level of support and technological guidance for his customers. His dedication to his customers and their missions has been exemplary and has been validated by the loyalty of his customer base.
